IRC Server

The IRC protocol is widely popular for Internet chat. Typically many users would be connecting to servers linked together in networks such as EFnet, Undernet or DALnet. IRC servers are also used in a standalone fashion or completely private. The ALTEXXANET IRC server is not linked to any other servers.

How do I get started?
You'll need a copy of an IRC client which are available on our downloads page. For modern operating systems, we would recommend sourcing out something newer than what may be available directly from us. Once you've got your client, connect to on default port 6667. If you're not automatically joined to our official channel, please join #altexxanet in your client. At this time we do not permit users to create their own channels.
